Discover Shadforth: Spa, maze and local producers

Shadforth brings together several themes relevant to different types of trip: spa treatments and shared experiences at Chimes Spa Retreat, an easy walk through Denmark Maze, and the business presence of two licensed producers. For planning purposes, wellness, an activity with children, and the local production site can therefore be considered separately. Those seeking a shared spa experience will find couples' treatment rooms at the retreat; for a walk with children, the small maze offers an easy route. The producers' address adds another local connection to these leisure and spa themes.

Spa experiences and group days

Chimes Spa Retreat is located in Shadforth and offers spa treatments. Shared spa experiences take place in couples' treatment rooms. For groups, the retreat arranges spa days tailored to their requirements on request. Examples include hen parties, birthday celebrations, and corporate events. This means there are two distinct kinds of group experience: time together in a couples' treatment room and a spa day tailored to the group. When planning for several people, this distinction is useful because it differentiates a shared spa experience from a group event. Check the booking details for your preferred date, as they may change.

A walk through Denmark Maze

Denmark Maze is a small maze at 94 Lapko Road in Shadforth. It offers an easy walk suitable for children; entry is by donation. This provides a specific child-friendly activity alongside the spa offering. For families, the combination of a small maze, an easy walk, and entry by donation clearly sets out what to expect from the outing. The difference from a spa visit lies in the focus: here, it is an easy walk, while the retreat offers treatments and shared spa experiences.

Producers and regional context

Castelli Estate Pty Ltd and Mt Shadforth Contract Crush Pty Ltd are licensed producers; their premises are at 380 Mount Shadforth Road, Shadforth, Denmark WA 6333. This is a different local connection from the leisure offerings at the spa retreat and maze: the address places the production site specifically in Shadforth. A picture of the town therefore includes both leisure and wellness themes and a business connection.

In the wider Denmark travel region, a 2023 project update proposed Wakundup as a possible Noongar dual name for Mount Shadforth. The meaning is “place of the wakoon / waterbirds”. The proposal relates to Mount Shadforth in the wider travel region and adds a cultural perspective to Shadforth's practical offerings.

Choose the right focus

The producers' address adds a business connection to this selection. Make your choice based on whether wellness, a walk with children, or the local production context is most important for your trip.
