Hữu Lạc Pagoda is located on Bình Xuyên Hill in Hữu Lạc village, now in the Bắc Tiến hamlet of Kỳ Bắc commune in Kỳ Anh District. Behind the pagoda lies the Kỳ Đầu mountain range, also known as the Bằng Sư range. In front are the winding, clear Thăng Làn stream and the Cồn Đá ridge; to the right are the Voi Mountains, also called Ngọc Thạch, and to the left is Hương Mountain. The pagoda is also connected with the area's political history: it served as a meeting place for Party members and had a printing station with lithographic plates for secret Party documents.

Historic Structures and Ancient Wells

Another historic structure is the Kỳ Lạc stone fortification. In the 17th century, it was reinforced as a defensive line during the Trịnh–Nguyễn conflict. In 2014, it was recognised as a national architectural and artistic monument; it is considered significant for conservation and tourism. The pagoda and the fortification reveal different aspects of Kỳ Anh's history: a site used for political meetings and printing stands in contrast to a military installation.

The ancient well complex of Kỳ Khang comprises three relatively well-preserved wells: the Trung Giáp village well, the Đông Hải village well and the Chân Tiên well. They are located in the Trung Tiến and Trung Hải hamlets, about one kilometre apart. The wells were built using Cham techniques and bear traces of historical cultural exchange. They also tell of an earlier purpose: close to the coast, they supplied fresh water to fishermen and traders at sea. It is also historically notable that, despite its proximity to the coast, the water in the Trung Giáp well remained fresh and not salty.

Crafts, Fish Sauce and Musical Traditions

Kỳ Thư's traditional conical hat craft was recognised by Hà Tĩnh Province in 2014. The production of Xuân Phú fish sauce also received provincial recognition. Today, two cooperatives and 66 households regularly produce fish sauce there. These examples offer a glimpse into two different aspects of local life: traditional craftsmanship and ongoing food production.

Kỳ Bắc has a long-standing tradition of trò kiều, tuồng, hát sắc bùa, dân ca and ví đối đáp. Music is also rooted in community life in Kỳ Thư: all six hamlets have folk ensembles for ví and giặm. In addition, a ví-giặm exchange programme takes place there every January. If you want to plan your trip around this event, check the exact date in advance.

Beaches and Green Tea Hills

Kỳ Xuân Beach is located in the Thắng Lợi, Nguyễn Huệ and Xuân Phú hamlets of Kỳ Xuân commune. Kỳ Phú Beach is part of the beach group in Kỳ Anh District. During public holidays, this group attracts visitors who come to swim, sightsee and sample seafood. The coastal national highway network connects the district's beaches and runs continuously from Thạch Khê to Vũng Áng. This means that, alongside the individual beach destinations, the coastal routes are also part of the region's overall layout.

The Kỳ Trung tea garden offers a different landscape. It is located in Kỳ Văn commune, formerly called Kỳ Trung, and offers an open, spacious setting with extensive green tea hills. Coastal destinations, historic sites, music and crafts, and tea country each bring their own distinctive character.
