Experience Nature, Water and Culture in Dong Nai
Accommodation in Dong Nai
Nighttime wildlife watching in a national park, a forest trail to a wetland, and a swan boat ride: Dong Nai offers a range of reasons to take a trip. When planning, it helps to first choose your main interest—nature, water or culture—and consider each destination separately for the days you plan to visit.
Cát Tiên National Park and Bàu Sấu Wetland
Cát Tiên National Park was recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve in 2001. The park is home to Bàu Sấu Wetland, recognized in 2005 under the Ramsar Convention as a wetland of international importance. Both designations shape the nature experiences this part of Dong Nai is known for.
The route to the wetland includes 9 kilometers by car or bicycle, followed by a 5-kilometer forest trail on foot. There is no alternative means of transport for this section. Bàu Sấu is 14 kilometers from the park’s visitor center. As route conditions and transport arrangements may change, check the latest information on how the route is organized before your visit.
A nighttime wildlife-watching tour in the national park uses a park vehicle and includes someone to shine a light. It must be booked in advance, and ticket numbers are limited. Check current operating details and booking options beforehand.
Water Experiences from Swan Boats to Wave Pools
At the Bửu Long ecotourism complex in Trấn Biên, rivers, lakes, mountains, caves and pagodas make up the landscape. Visitors can take a swan boat out on Long Ẩn Lake, offering a specific way to experience the complex’s waterscape.
Suối Mơ Park is an excursion park in Trà Cổ, Tân Phú District. Its distinctive water features include cool waterfalls and a large swimming lake. At Giang Điền Waterfall Park, an ecotourism site covering around 67 hectares in Trảng Bom District, the natural setting includes three watercourses: Chàng Waterfall, Nàng Waterfall and the main Giang Điền Waterfall. The approximate area and three named watercourses offer a different point of reference from a single swimming lake.
At the Sơn Tiên entertainment complex, The Amazing Bay – Vịnh Kỳ Diệu water park features thrilling water slides and a large wave pool. Dong Nai therefore offers very different water experiences: a swan boat ride, waterfalls and a swimming lake, or slides and a wave pool. Sơn Tiên complex is also designed for leisure, entertainment and relaxation.
On Ó and Đồng Trường islands in the Trị An Reservoir, visitors can pick and eat fresh fruit; availability is seasonal. Camping is also possible on Ó Island, though availability may vary by operator and site management. Check the conditions for your chosen season and specific location.
Culture, History and Regional Experiences
Núi Chứa Chan is a spiritual pilgrimage destination. At the Chứa Chan Historical and Scenic Monument Site, visitors can ride in a cable car while taking in mountain forests, valleys and white rocky cliffs. Cable car operations and visitor services may change, so check the latest conditions before your visit.
Chiến khu Đ is a system of national historical monuments set amid diverse forest. For a different cultural experience, Tà Lài Eco Lodge offers traditional brocade-weaving experiences with the Mạ and S’tiêng ethnic groups.
Làng bưởi Tân Triều is on a small island surrounded by the Đồng Nai River. Visitors can explore the orchards freely and sample local dishes. The site combines a distinctive island setting with two specific ways to get to know the area: visiting the gardens and tasting regional food.
Plan Your Stay Around Your Interests
When choosing where to stay, first consider which experiences you want to shape your trip: nature and wildlife in Cát Tiên, water attractions such as Bửu Long and Sơn Tiên, or cultural and historical sites such as Chứa Chan and Chiến khu Đ. If you have several interests, plan each destination based on its specific location and check the routes separately for the days you intend to visit.
