Islamabad Capital Territory – Museums, Nature and City Views
Accommodation in Islamabad Capital Territory
Islamabad Capital Territory offers a range of themes: Pakistani cultural history sits alongside city views, parks and hiking opportunities. Museums and natural sites offer different perspectives on a stay; the right mix depends on what you want to experience on your trip.
Museums and Cultural Perspectives
The Pakistan Monument presents the Pakistan Movement and Pakistani culture. The Pakistan Monument Museum spans a broad historical arc: from early civilizations through the struggle for independence and the founding of Pakistan to important developments since 1947. Dedicated sections honor Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal, the two visionary founders. The museum includes a reference library, audiovisual archives, a conference hall and the 62-seat Panorama Auditorium. The availability of these facilities may vary.
The Heritage Museum focuses on folk heritage and traditional ways of life. Its exhibition halls showcase music, handicrafts and festivals alongside dioramas and ethnographic displays. It presents living traditions of communities from established and remote regions of Pakistan. Mai Qamro Mosque is considered Islamabad’s oldest mosque and forms part of the historic cultural setting of the Gakhar dynasty.
