Lete: Hiking Trail and Destinations in Thasang Rural Municipality
Accommodation in Lete
A specific destination directly connected to Lete is the 500-meter hiking trail that links Kunjho and Lete through the rocks of Thasang Rural Municipality. The trail was created after the old route was rerouted as a result of the construction of the Beni–Jomsom road. Its structural features include tunnels drilled through the mountain, iron rods and retaining walls. The route therefore brings together the landscape and the history of a changed transport connection.
Hiking Trail and Gurusangbo Cave
The 500-meter length describes the route, not the walking time. If you plan to hike the trail, check the current trail conditions before setting out. Gurusangbo Cave offers another route option within the municipality: from the Beni–Jomsom road, drive via Lajung and Bokshikhola to Naurikot; from there, it is a one-hour walk. Check current road and trail conditions before driving.
A road connection between the lakes is also part of the region’s layout. A 3.51-kilometer road was built from Tangchhar on the Beni–Jomsom road, via Sekung Lake, to Bhutarchho Lake. This road connection and the walking paths between the lakes are different routes; do not plan them as if they were the same route.
Lakes in the Municipality
Gurusangbo Cave, Sekung Lake and Bhutarchho Lake are located in Ward 2 of Thasang Rural Municipality. Titi Lake is in Ward 5. These location details help distinguish destinations within the municipality and plan each route segment separately.
Sekung Lake
Sekung Lake is roughly circular, about 150 meters long and 20 meters wide, and lies at an elevation of 2,725 meters. A 191-meter footpath reinforced with stones runs around the lake. A post dated August 18, 2025, also mentions a two-room public toilet with a paved surface there. If you plan to rely on this facility, check its current condition before your visit.
Bhutarchho Lake
Bhutarchho Lake has a 160-meter footpath and a two-room paved toilet; both facilities are also mentioned in a post dated August 18, 2025. The lake is a habitat for various duck and bird species, as well as muntjac. The walk between Sekung Lake and Bhutarchho Lake takes about 30 minutes. This walking time applies to the route between the two lakes.
Titi Lake
Titi Lake is near Lete and Kobang. An approximately one-and-a-half-hour walk leads to the lake from the nearby settlements of Lete and Kobang; both road and footpath access options are available. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project identifies Titi Lake as a habitat for 186 bird species, including three duck species. A post dated August 18, 2025, also mentions two rest shelters and 16 benches at the lake.
Distinguish the Walking Times
The time estimates are not interchangeable for planning your trip: reaching Gurusangbo Cave involves a one-hour walk after driving to Naurikot; the walk between Sekung and Bhutarchho lakes takes about 30 minutes. The walk to Titi Lake from the nearby settlements is estimated at about one and a half hours. By contrast, no walking time is given for the 500-meter trail between Kunjho and Lete. Base these different route lengths and time estimates on their respective starting points, and check local conditions before setting out.
