Discover Yingtan: Culture, Science and Green Spaces
Accommodation in Yingtan
Yingtan offers several themes to help guide your travel planning: science exhibitions, Taoist and regional culture, and green spaces in the urban area. Points of interest range from the immediate surroundings of the destination to the wider region. When choosing a hotel, consider which of these themes matter most to you during your stay.
Getting There and Getting Around
For the immediate area, in a response dated November 22, 2024, the transport authority described bus route K2 as connecting Yingtan Railway Station with the visitor center for the Longhushan Scenic Area. If you plan to use this route, check the latest timetable details before setting out.
Science and Museum Culture
The “自然之道” exhibition area at the Yingtan Science Museum consists of three themed sections and a special section. “天地万象” explores how the universe and Earth work, “人体健康” covers the organs of the human body, and “和谐共生” focuses on creating a green home. The special section, “魅力鹰潭,” is devoted to Yingtan’s geographical and geomorphological features. The exhibits thus range from natural science and human health to the region’s landforms.
The Yingtan Museum is also located in the wider region and is also known as the Jiangxi Museum of Taoist Culture. It is classified as a National Grade II Museum. Its collection includes more than 10,000 objects, including items relating to Jiaoshan culture, cliff tomb culture, Taoist culture, and Yingtan’s copper culture. These themes offer different perspectives, from archaeological and historical cultures to religious traditions and local copper history. Check the latest visitor arrangements before visiting the museum.
For 2025, the museum reported a total of 32 large-scale immersive performances and stage productions. They reached nearly 10,000 teachers, students, and residents. This figure describes the 2025 program, not a current schedule. If a performance is important to your trip, check the specific dates.
Parks and Green Spaces in the Urban Area
A report dated April 13, 2025, puts the urban area’s park network at 21 comprehensive parks and 8 pocket parks. According to the report, park green space covered 91.4 percent of the area within its service radius. For the built-up area, the report gave a green space ratio of 43.02 percent and 24.96 square metres of park green space per person. It also listed the awards “National Garden City” and “Jiangxi Provincial Ecological Garden City.”
The “一江两岸” riverfront landscape links eight parks in the urban area: 鹰潭公园, 滨江公园, 东湖公园, 梅园公园, 信江公园, 龙潭公园, 虎岭公园 and 石鼓渡公园. A 25-kilometre greenway connects the parks and is suitable for walking. Donghu Park (东湖公园) is part of this route, which continues from there to seven other parks.
Visitors to the city parks will encounter themes from Taoist tradition, copper culture, railway history, and revolutionary culture. The parks thus bring cultural themes together with the natural landscape. If you would rather make a walk the focus of your stay than visit a museum, the connected parks offer a different emphasis.
Bailuhe Wetland Park
Bailuhe Wetland Park, designated at the provincial level, is located in Yingtan’s Yuehu District. Its core area covers the Bailuhe River area within the district. The park stretches 4.28 kilometres, from Fuchen Dam in the south to the Tiyuguan Road Bridge in the north, and from Chuangjing Jinguiyuan in the west to the banks of the Bailuhe River in the east. If you plan to visit, check separately on access and possible recreational activities.
